Collaboratives

Collaboratives are SHRN’s version of affinity groups. They bring together members who share a common interest, identity, or goal, and who want to connect, learn, and grow in that area. Each Collaborative meets monthly to explore challenges and opportunities, support members in transition, and exchange ideas and resources. Materials and insights from these meetings are shared on the SHRN member website. Collaboratives also organize workshops and seminars related to their focus areas.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging

This effort is spearheaded by a group of SHRN members who value creating work environments that support diversity of thought and perspective, foster a culture of belonging, promote an inclusive workforce, and provide equal opportunities for all colleagues.  We steward the discussion, education, and advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion practices and approaches with our members.

These efforts aim to create a safe space for individuals to learn and enhance our own proficiency in leading diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives. The group also supports HR practitioners in becoming impactful allies who take action and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts within our workplace and community.

We facilitate meaningful discussions through a safe and supportive environment. We leverage the experiences of HR leaders and subject matter experts to provide actionable insights for practitioners and advance knowledge through sharing tools, resources, and best practices.

The SHRN CHRO/CPO Collaborative Roundtable

The SHRN CHRO/CPO Collaborative Roundtable is an exclusive forum designed to bring together Chief Human Resources Officers (CHROs) and Chief People Officers (CPOs) from across the SHRN network. This dynamic roundtable fosters strategic dialogue, peer learning, and collaborative problem-solving on the most pressing workforce and organizational challenges facing today’s senior HR leaders.

Participants engage in curated, high-impact discussions focused on innovative talent strategies, leadership development, organizational culture, and the evolving role of HR in shaping business outcomes. With a commitment to confidentiality and trust, the roundtable creates a space for honest exchange, shared insights, and co-creation of forward-thinking solutions.

The CHRO/CPO Collaborative Roundtable meets monthly and is guided by SHRN’s mission to empower HR leaders through connection, knowledge, and collective action.  The expected monthly time commitment is 1-2 hours.

Our collaborative will be hosted by Helen Zarba, CPO at HealthDrive Corporation and Lanning Levine, former CHRO/SVP at American Science and Engineering. Please contact either of them for more information.

People & Culture Consulting (PCC)

The PCC Collaborative consists of members who run their own businesses in the “people” space, offering coaching, consulting, and other HR services to their clients.  We hold monthly meetings to discuss and share best practices, challenges, solutions, resources, and knowledge.  Meeting topics cover all aspects and stages of running a business, including business setup, marketing, planning, administration, affiliations, client management, time management, the use of technology, and other external factors that impact a business.  We also discuss challenges we face in our shared HR discipline. Our group leverages each member’s experience and expertise through mutual sharing of self-reflections, insights, advice, and learnings that support and benefit the entire group.  We invite members to bring their questions, thoughts, and authentic selves to the group each month.

We welcome new members who have started a business or are in the process of starting a business, are open to sharing best practices with the rest of the group, are committed to joining our monthly meetings, and are interested in being engaged as a member of the broader SHRN community.
