Member Testimonials

Alina Lisanke, Director of Talent Acquisition

When I was first laid off I was thrilled to join SHRN. I found our meetings to be a wonderful balance in my weeks to have something consistent to look forward to, as a way to keep myself on track with my job search. It’s been a joy to meet so many wonderful professionals and share ideas together while supporting one another. I’ll continue to stay connected and hope to have opportunities to pay it forward.

Kausik Sarkar, Chief Human Resources Officer

SHRN is an outstanding professional networking group, among the best there is. It offers everything you want from a group such as this – information, resources, learning opportunities, keeping up with industry trends and functional developments, and more. And then it goes beyond what most groups do – pushes each other out of their zones of comfort or fear; rebuilds confidence and energy; shares job leads and insights; opens doors to opportunities both public and private; and through it all, builds lasting relationships (not transactional ones). I am privileged to be associated with SHRN and will always enjoy the friendship of its fellow members and the generosity of their time.

Ingrid Smith, Vice President of Human Resources

SHRN was invaluable to me during my transition. Not only did the group help me with logistics looking for work- things like sharing leads, getting intros at companies, tips and tricks on LI, etc., but SHRN was essential to my mental health. Looking for work can be so difficult as well as isolating, but being part of a supportive community of talented leaders who were also going through the same thing made it less lonely. I now consider the supportive team I met during my transition to be life-long comrades and friends.

Mike Cassani, Chief People Officer

I have had a few searches over the past 25 years, and I always know I can count on this group. It may be in leads for new roles or interview advice but what I feel has been most helpful is the unconditional support you get as a member. Whether it’s business or personal,  someone is always there to pull you back up, dust you off and get you back on the road. They help you cut through the noise and focus on the search.

Peter Kennedy, VP HR Business Partner

The SHRN Career Transition Group has proven to be exceptionally valuable for me as I found myself searching for new employment quite late in my career. It provided an awesome peer support group to help pick me up when times were hard and to celebrate when new opportunities came my way, wisely guided along by excellent coaches while I was active in the group. I often felt that my SHRN brothers and sisters were the only ones who really understood the mix of emotions I experienced and their feedback and words of encouragement always helped to keep me on track in my search. The group also was an excellent source of shared job leads and provided valuable insight and feedback around opportunities, employers, and the interview experience.

Yvonne Zenquis, Global Head of Human Resources

Navigating a career transition can be challenging, but the unwavering support from the SHRN Career Transition Group has made all the difference. The guidance, encouragement, and practical advice offered during this transition period helped me stay focused on my goals and approach the opportunities ahead with clarity and purpose. The most valuable aspect has been the strong relationships we’ve built with one another. These connections created a sense of community and belonging, and have been instrumental in helping me secure my new position. Through this experience, I’ve learned that career transitions are not just about finding the right job—they’re about developing meaningful relationships that provide support, insight, and encouragement along the way.

Yve Lopez, Director of People and Culture

The SHRN CTG was a game changer. It wasn’t until I joined this incredible network that both my job search and my confidence took a turn. It is a key example of working smarter, not harder. This is an amazing group of people. The model is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Having an experienced moderator who is invested in each member’s successful landing is a key reason for the group’s effectiveness.

James DeMichele, Head of HRBP’s

The SHRN network participants were inspiring and helpful throughout my search process. There is sincere camaraderie and valuable feedback provided to help individuals through the transition process. I continued to learn from the group each week from networking strategies, elevator pitch refinement and how to manage emotions during the search process. I am grateful for SHRN and its mission.
