SHRN History
The Beginnings of SHRN- The Senior HR Network
In the late 1990s, during a period of widespread layoffs, Bob Gatti, a respected HR recruiter and founder of Gatti & Associates, established SHRN. His vision was to support senior HR professionals in transition. What began as a small, close-knit group meeting in his Medfield office quickly expanded, fueled by Bob Gatti’s initial vision and the collaborative spirit he fostered.
Growth and Evolution
SHRN evolved into a more formalized, volunteer-led non-profit organization with a Board of Directors. This board, which included dedicated presidents like Chuck Campbell, Fred George, Lanning Levine, and currently Kristie Brachowski, played a pivotal role in guiding SHRN’s growth. These presidents, among other dedicated board members, shaped SHRN into the thriving community it is today.
Technology and Learning
Under Lanning Levine’s leadership, SHRN’s website became a key hub for job leads, professional connections, and career development. It now facilitates resource sharing, recruiter networking, and member profile visibility, adapting to the digital age.
A Supportive Community
SHRN is more than just a networking group; it’s a dynamic and supportive community built on the shared experience of having been in job transition together. Quarterly in-person events provide opportunities for meaningful networking and relationship building.
SHRN Today
Now the longest-running senior HR network in New England, SHRN remains committed to its founding mission—helping HR professionals connect, grow, and succeed. With strong leadership and an engaged membership, SHRN continues to adapt, evolve, and thrive in an ever-changing job market.
